Adopt-A-Hen

We are currently working on our Adopt-A-Hen program. Check back for more details, but here are a few of the highlights.

- You can save a hen
Every hen adopted will mean one less in an intensive corporate farm system. Hens are happier living with room to roam, the ability to lay in the sun at their choosing and searching for grubs and insects.

- Know where your eggs are from
Many more of us want to know where our food comes from, and what has been involved in producing it. Come and visit the farm and see for yourself, check out our Visiting Days.

- Enjoy the freshest eggs
You benefit from a regular supply of eggs, which really do taste better because they are laid by hens that live the way hens were created to live.
Provided you live close enough for delivery or collection of course!

Sustainable Agriculture: Curing America's Eating Disorder

The alternative to the longstanding American food policy of "cheap and lots" is to eat locally, eat seasonally and eat organic. Filmmaker Bonnie Bucqueroux and her dog Schmoopsie look at the sustainable agriculture movement, including a visit to Michigan State University's Student Organic Farm, where Dr. John Biernbaum discusses the options people have to grow their own food or to buy from local growers. from http://www.strategies4survival .com

Welcome to HomeSteadingTimes.Com

If you are seeing this message, it's because you are either a first-time visitor, you are not a member or you are not logged in. In any case, take a moment, register (it's FREE) and login. You won't be sad you did. With your help, we hope to create a community of free flow information for all homesteader's or homesteader want-to-be's. I don't think I will ever meet anyone who has it all figured out and knows it all, but together we can share knowledge, success and failures... and maybe, just maybe make a few friends in the process.

Future Home of HomeSteadingTimes.Com

This site is underdevelopment. As you can see there is a lot to be done and much to be added. As time permits new sections will be added; if you are a homesteader, or have an idea of a section or topic you'd like to share then please drop me a line. I'd welcome help and look forward to sharing and hearing your ideas.

Freedom song by Peter Yarrow

It is time that we think more about peace and less about how big our piece will be. This song should be our National Anthem!
